" Quiet, Comfortible, and Affordable, March 2008

I loved the place, tastefully furnished where you feel more at home than a hotel of like cost. You're never bothered by maid service wanting access on THEIR schedule and not yours. There were bicycles in the garage much to my surprise, so I took a sunset ride around the neighborhood. I noticed a friendly mixture of older and younger folks quietly enjoying the evening each in their own way. Another nice point the place has to make is it's proximity to just about anything you want, e.g. restaurants and or clubs. The nights were quiet and I slept well in the bed provided as it wasn't the mass produced kind like, again, the hotel offerings. The only thing I wished for was a speedboat, but that would ruin the atmosphere, fun though. If asked if I would stay there again, this is why I'm writing this review so late. I was on the site looking to plan another visit when I saw that I could write about my experience. I could ramble on and tell you how well the folks that own the place treat you."

Just returned from week long stay in Holiday.Had a wonderful time and this home is very coastal cozy in a great location. Did many day trips to Orlando, Tampa nearby Tarpon Springs, great beaches(Honeymoon Island and Clearwater. Was great to return to quiet home and relax with beautiful lake view just steps from back door. Early morning coffee on Lanai enjoying neighborhood wildlife(turtles, egrets,fishing from attatched dock). If you come here defintely check out the food and shopping at nearby Tarpon Springs. We also booked a day long fishing trip at the sponge docks(great fun). If planning more than one day trip into Orlando, I would suggest connecting the days and maybe stay overnight there as the drive after a long park day was a little rough. If your looking for a little nearby nightlife, we enjoyed Captain Jack's, good food, music and drinks on a dock location. We taveled by air to Tampa International a short 25 minute drive. We had a great time and would recommend this home."

Had a very nice time in this nicely furnished home. Had great mornings sitting out on dock with coffee viewing all diffrent sorts of wildlife.Plenty of very good beaches in short driving distance.Clearwater was my favorite,only 20mins away.Plenty of stores around for all types of shopping.Defenitely check out Capt Jacks Restaraunt on alt19 near the sponge docks(also very intresting)Home has everything you need to enjoy your stay there.Ride the bikes it has or enjoy an evening walk around the neighborhood to view all the beautiful scenery.As i have said previous,VERY NICE PLACE!!!"

"We stayed for a week and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Quiet neighborhood, very comfortable house, exceptional beds and all the amenities one might need. The dock is a relaxing place to sit and safely watch birds, turtles and alligators. The sunsets are lovely. Another benefit--the home is centrally located to beaches, great restaurants, and shopping. A suggestion: don't miss checking out the
county parks. They are well-maintained and not overrun with tourists. Overall we were very pleased. The only reason I am assigning a rating of 4 1/2 instead of 5 stars is my husband's disappointment that the cable TV package did not include ESPN. (He would have liked to watch some college football games.) But, we had a great time!" Mary

 Hated to come Home, Mid January - Mid February 2009

We stayed in Holiday from mid Jan to mid Feb and enjoyed a very relaxing vacation, like being in your own home but without disruptions or cold weather. Had a nice relaxing time here, we just felt so at home.  This attractive home has everything you need to have a comfortable and enjoyable stay, I can't think of anything that has been left out. I recommend this home for a relaxing vacation, it's a home in a peaceful neighbourhood. If you're looking for excitement, go elsewhere. Both sunrise and sunset are beautiful. We were both very happy with our vacation. We also visited local shops and attractions, shopping is definitely a plus.  Recommend you go to Tarpon Springs, Touristy on the main street.  Decent Greek food. Capt. Jack's good for a glass of beer/wine. Lots of shopping here, trust your GPS. Pls feed the tall white bird, we called him Ernie, he likes weiners. Watch for the flying fish, they come out of the water like skipping stones. The fishing off the deck is quite good.

 Star Island Withdrawls, Late February - March 2009

By Janet E (Floyd, VA) Hi Amy,  Oh I wish we had called you, started to as we hated to leave! Came back here to cold, rainy, foggy weather and I am still trying to get warm (sob). We absolutley loved it!  The house was beautiful and so cozy, the weather was perfect and the water so beautiful. We enjoyed the sunrise and sunsets, especially (Earnie) the big white herron, he  is so spoiled! We enjoyed gator watching, saw at least 3  just across from the dock, HUGE! We had friends there a few times and Marvin's brother and wife and they also enjoyed it so much. Glad you were pleased with the way we left the house! I told you I would take care of it as I would my own. Again thank you for sharing your home with us and I failed to mention we love the Holiday area with so many wonderful places to visit so near by. Looking forward to going back to Star Island! We want to be able to go down in the cold months Jan. And Feb. As well as March. I have been having withdrawal pains ever since we left! I just got back from Holiday yesterday, couldn't wait to tell you we are neighbors!! We are buying a home across the lake. It's the same floor plan as your beautiful place only the family room is not as large and no window seat. We have some work to do on it but the view is beautiful. We are looking forward to meeting you sometime when we are there at the same time, if you happen to be in Holiday at that time please stop by! Once we stayed on Star Island I just had to have a place there. Its so beautiful and peaceful. It's not Star island but pretty close! Thanks so much for helping us find that wonderful place. By Carrie V (Denver, CO) "Amy - a recommendation for Wittpiers Star Island - We had such a great time staying at your home in Holiday, Florida.  The other family members (staying with Grandma) were amazed that we were able to find a place so close! I have given them the info for contacting you regarding future rentals, if they would prefer to stay someplace with less burden on Grandma. Everything was wonderful, I can't think of a thing that would make it any better! The house is very comfortable, spacious, and well appointed. It was easy to cook for and serve our whole group (8 people) with all the necessary kitchen items you have provided. Everything was wonderful! It is also so close to grocery stores and other take-out food, that we didn't need to go far for anything. We loved sitting on the lanai for morning coffee and taking in the lovely view. We enjoyed all the birds and saw lots of turtles, fish, and even alligators! Very exciting for us non-Floridians. I have recommended your home to our other family members and would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful and relaxing vacation spot!" Thanks Again,

 Wittpier's Star Island is a very welcoming home. Beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the comfortable mattress in the master bedroom after a long day of sightseeing. Toured the Gulf Coast from the Anclote Keys to Osprey. Many pretty acres but Honeymoon Island, not far from Holiday is especially beautiful.  We liked Tarpon Springs with the many gift shops and Greek cuisine. Weather was not too warm, we had a wonderful relaxing vacation.

 We have had a wonderful vacation, most relaxing place we've ever stayed! The house is decorated so pretty and so very comfortable. The waterview is just awesome, have enjoyed gator watching and especially the birds. We also had the pleasure of meeting Ernie. He is totally spoiled and make those weiners all beef! =-) Holiday is a wonderful area so convenient to so many areas. We went to the spongedocks, local beaches, and on the gambling boat out of New Port Richey the 10 mile ride out was worth the trip, was a beautiful ride. Downtown New Port Richey is a beautiful place to walk along the river and shop. We are sad to be leaving this beautiful restful place and plan to stay here again! Thanks!
